Meet the Members
The People
Under the Wing is made up of volunteers from many different walks of life.  Many of the people that belong to our organization are staff members or consumers from Vocational Guidance Services but we also count amount our members a number of people from the community at large.  Interested in joining?  Please contact Emily for more information.  Our board members are:

The Animals

Over 70 animals have been assisted by Under the Wing.  Although time constraints do not allow us to post all of their stories, you'll find at least one below.  The stories will be updated at least quarterly so please check back soon!

Name:  Jeter
Breed:  Yorkshire Terrier
Age:  6 Years
History:  Rescued from extreme neglect, Jeter came to Under the Wing in very poor physical and mental condition.  By the time he reached us, Jeter was filthy, had only a few rotted teeth remaining, had an upper respiratory infection, was under weight, extremely lethargic, and did not appear to know his name. 
Rescue:  Jeter was cared for in a foster home while he underwent surgery and physically recovered from his health issues.  His medical care was provided by The Family Pet Clinic at a discounted rate and was paid for by the generous contributions of Under the Wing members (below is a list of the individuals that contributed directly to his fund). 

The toll of Jeter's neglect was apparent not only in his physical condition but also in his substantial fear of people.  To help him get ready for the next chapter of his life, Jeter spent nearly all of his time in the care of loving humans.  His friends in Vocational Guidance Services' Personal Social and Community Program in particular provided him with lots of affection and treats.  Click here for a daily blog on Jeter's rescue.
Outcome:  Jeter won the lottery when he found a wonderful family in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio interested in providing him with his forever home.  Jeter now has two brothers, another Yorkshire Terrier and a Bichon. 
Jeter adores his new family and has found the happiness he deserves.

Under the Wing is in desperate need of foster homes.  All expenses are paid and we have experience working with facilities such as prisons and other community facilities.  Animals make a tremendous difference is the quality of life of their caretakers.  To find out how you or your organization can participate as a foster site, please contact Emily at 216 881-6007 or emilyerbs@gmail.com
